Here are a few highlights:
1.Life is not fair. Get used to it.
6.The government cannot create jobs for you. You must create your own worth by proving yourself to be a gungho benefit for your employer. If you think you can do better, by all means, do better.
In other words, if the value you provide to your employer is less than your pay, you are in danger of getting fired. If the value you provide is vastly greater than your paycheck, you are headed towards a promotion. See the correlation? What do you suppose is the path to a bigger and better job?
9.The whole world sucks, but America still sucks less. Learn your history and be the best we the people participant that you can be.
My tactful rephase of that point: There are many bad episodes in U.S. history. I can probably provide a longer list of those embarrassments than you can.
This is in contrast to most places on the earth where you have to search long and hard to find any country that isn’t worse.
13.Sometimes you give the world the best you got and you get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you got anyway.
His closing advice:
The only thing that truly holds anyone back is themselves. Don’t hold back. … The ball is now in your court. Hit it square, hit it often, hit it hard and hit it smart!
Notice how freedom is a critical part of every comment he makes?
